Infrared Optical Materials
Monocrystalline silicon materials have good thermal conductivity, low density, and high infrared refractive index. Commonly used in the lens of infrared imaging system and the reflector of laser system, it is one of the earliest infrared materials used in the world.
Growth mode:
1. CZ method

Features: Mainstream, equipment technology, simple and capable of preparing large-sized crystal rods, mostly for electronic and solar applications, suitable for mid infrared 1.2-7 optical applications μm.
2. Zone melting method (FZ)

Features: High cost, small size available, suitable for high-power electronic devices. Suitable for 1-14 optical applications μ M-band, high-purity zone melting silicon can even be used in the far infrared 30 μ M has transmission, similar as transparent ceramic materials, which are not available in other conventional infrared materials.
