Chalcogenide glass
Chalcogenide glass is a new type of infrared lens material, mainly composed of S, Se, Te of the VI main group, combined with elements such as As, Ge, P, Sb, Al, Si, etc. to form a glassy substance. Its transmission band can cover short wavelength 1-3 μ m. 3-5 μ m. 8-12 μ Three atmospheric windows. In recent years, the preparation and use of sulfur-based glass have developed rapidly in China, with numerous manufacturers and investors entering the market.

Advantages:
1. Wide transmission band
2. Can be molded into an aspherical shape, with low batch manufacturing costs
3.The temperature coefficient of the refractive index is small, which can be used for non-thermal design of infrared lenses.
Shortcoming
1. Low hardness and difficulty in achieving surface smoothness; Clamping is prone to deformation and affects the surface shape of the lens
2. The molding process needs to be improved, and the batch stability is poor
